Get On Up! Get a Sex Machine!

If you thought fucking machines only existed for porn, you’d be dead wrong. While machine-induced orgasms might sound too fantastic to be true, we’re here to tell you: they’re real. And you can have them anytime you want, without ever having to leave home.

It’s the year 2021, and entire cities still go on and off lockdown, sometimes with barely any warning. Getting used to intermittent quarantine and limited travel has only made it all the more necessary to be creative with your stress relief.

You might live with family or roommates, and it’s hard to find (much less bring) anyone risky home. Or what if your relationship happens to be long-distance? For those and many other reasons, people have had to turn to sex toys and masturbation just to scratch the itch.

Before anything else, let’s first define the terms.

What exactly is a sex machine? Does a vibrator count?

Technically, yes. A vibrator is technically a sex machine in that a vibrator is a machine you can use for sex. In your hands, it’s a piece of equipment with several moving parts that uses or applies mechanical energy to perform a task. And that task is to induce sexual stimulation… to make you orgasm. Simple, right?

But what if you didn’t have to hold it in your hands?

Let’s start with a basic dildo. Simple. Classic. Any color you want. You can go traditional or contemporary (Grooves? Bumps? Have fun!) Next, let’s add a little motor to make it vibrate. Fixed onto a frame or some kind of mount, it can stand up by itself. You can ride it, or better yet, set it at the foot of your bed, with an extending rod to push and pull and rotate.

Perhaps the oldest sex machine is the classic Sybian (a rideable, saddle-type vibrator). And all the most popular porn videos usually portray complicated devices thrusting at maximum speed. However, sex machines don’t always have to be solely penetrative. Teasing, licking, and sucking can be automated too.

What are the benefits of owning a personal sex machine?

1. Sometimes sex toys just won’t cut it.

The longer our circumstances seem to stretch, you might find even Ol’ (Purple, Vibrating) Faithful has begun to look… well, boring.

While sex toys are wonderful, it can be hard to achieve power and depth with only a handheld device. If you’re like me and you like overstimulation, it can be frustrating if being in the throes of orgasm also means losing grip strength. (Argh, I want more! But now I’ve got a cramp.)

Or what if you like the sensation of not being in control? Even if it’s only an illusion, you might miss the idea that even if you’ve already come once, some other entity just… might not feel like stopping.

If flipping between familiar settings with a switch has lost its magic, here’s a thought — what about buying a sex machine?

2. You can go solo, but it’s also fun to share.

Sex machines are perfect for when it feels like you need just a little more from your masturbatory sessions. Though you should keep in mind that they won’t always be among the quietest of your home appliances, sex machines can be a great go-to for hands-free orgasms if you ever find yourself without a partner.

On the other hand, introducing sex machines can be a great way to spice up couple, or even group, sex. There are new, modern models that can connect to apps online so you can have a partner from far away running the show. You can even download customized settings recommended by fun online communities. If that’s too high-tech for you, simply handing the remote to someone else in the room can add an entirely new level of thrill.

3. Sex machines are completely customizable.

And I don’t just mean colors, materials, or even power settings. You can (and probably should) expect those things from most traditional, simpler sex toys. But with sex machines, you can have absolute control over everything — from the direction of movement to the depth of the thrust, the intensity of vibration down to what kind of attachment you want on the business end. Suckers, anyone?

4. Do it for the kink.

According to an Urban Dictionary entry from 2008, mechanophilia is “the love or sexual attraction to computers, cars, robots, or androids, washing machines and other domestic appliances, lawn mowers and other mechanized gardening equipment. Sexual relations between living organisms and machines”.

Actual sex robots might be a way off yet. But if you’ve ever fantasized about the terminator minus the Arnold Schwarzenegger part… this might just be the home investment you were looking for.

Now, if those are the pros… are there any cons?

Here’s the thing. Sex machines aren’t cheap.

In fact, they shouldn’t be. Sex machines come with a lot more components than smaller sex toys, from the attachments and the frames to the internal mechanisms. Just like with any other appliance, cheaper machines run the risk of lighter plastic to shoddy insulation, and trust me — things can go a lot worse for you than a severe electric shock.

First, it’s important to check if the components that come into contact with your skin are safe for your body. Otherwise, you should also buy protective coverings like condoms and specific, nontoxic cleaning solutions.

Second, just like we’ve mentioned before, sex machines won’t be quiet by default. Unless you have a special, high-end machine, itt might be a good idea to wait until you’re alone, or at least turn up the music.

And finally: you can’t easily have sex machines returned or fixed the way you would any other appliance, for hygiene reasons. If you’re unfazed and still considering buying one, check first if there’s a warranty in place, especially if you’re thinking of ordering online.

A good model shouldn’t compromise on either your safety or your comfort. Check out the sex machines on Foxxxy if you want good use without breaking your bank!

Intimacy, Lockdown, and Sex Toys

Everybody loves sex. Being intimate with someone/s and just letting your bodies tango in all the right places is a thrill that we crave – especially when it isn’t allowed.

It’s 2021, and you’d think the world would’ve beaten the Covid-19 pandemic by now, but it seems that the virus is adamant about keeping us social distancing for a little bit longer. As if it wasn’t challenging enough before to date or maintain relationships, the travel and health restrictions are like festival flags that look so fun but also so dangerous.

What a challenge it is to stay intimate during a lockdown, right?

Since the outbreak in 2020, we’ve been told to meet other people with caution or, ideally, not at all. Pre-Covid Intimacy used to be a magical experience that any sexually active creature could enjoy almost 24/7. You could find a connection through popular dating apps/sites like Foxtail or even organically at your favorite bar or café. Oh, how we miss the little things that meant we’re alive! Remember when we used to anticipate being picked up for a date? Snuggling under the covers with Netflix on? Talking about our fears and dreams in the back of a pick-up truck beneath the stars? Getting it on after a nightcap? Good times, right?

See, Intimacy isn’t always about sex, though, but also about the connection we have with people. But with touching off the table, we physical touch lovers are at a loss. Whoever thought that these simple things could be taken away by a flu-like virus?

As the borders shut down, venturing to and fro countries, cities, and even neighborhoods have become a health hazard. Seeing people became impossible and, honestly, just not worth it when we know we can stick it out, right?

Alas, not everyone can be (temporarily) chaste.

Not all hope is lost, though! Thanks to the advances in technology and the gift of the internet, connecting with people over long distances wasn’t really an issue compared to hooking up during the lockdown. Conversations can spark with a click of a button; meanwhile, love-making sputtered out before it even ignited. The lockdown actually killed off a lot of relationships – long-term or budding. It’s either due to the excessive closeness of being stuck together or the physical distance of home quarantine. Covid-19 became an effective heartbreaker for some but a relationship mender to others. People who lived with their significant others never really experienced the kind of sexual drought as the general populace did – even if they ended up breaking up. Those who lived alone had to get creative… or panic buy sex toys like the rest of us.

Ah, yes, the notorious items that are sex toys. The replacement for sexually unsatisfying partners and lack of intimacy, just kidding. Many misconceptions surround sex toys that people think it’s the end of a relationship when you own one. But in reality, sex toys are windows to spicier sex life; it’s the vanguard of other kinks. Everyone loves sex, and sex involves kink. Seeing as everyone has a kink, the fear of not getting some in isolation became too strong that it inevitably pushed those on the brink to join this bandwagon. But that’s okay, sexual exploration and discovery are all part of the fun, and we do not judge here.

According to a psychosexual health journal, online sales for sex dolls, sex toys, and lingerie have skyrocketed more than 100% of their usual sales. This phenomenon was observed in many countries, i.e., Australia, the UK, Denmark, France, Spain, India, et cetera. This just confirms that people value sexual health as they value their mental health. It’s difficult to go on living without that feeling of release only sex can provide. Still, with the current situation, we had to go to try alternatives to satisfy our bodily cravings.

The possession of sex toys empowered people to use their imaginations by feeding the senses either via online sessions with partners from different locales or a shared experience in private quarters, through exploration of self-pleasure, or even role-play fantasies. While frenzied to restock pantries for a hibernation-like event, many people also prioritized equipping themselves with basic sex items. Hence, the notion that all types of Intimacy, no matter its form, is valued and needed for overall healthy well-being.

We can all agree that we have all taken hits because of the lockdown experience. Our relationships with the world, other people, and ourselves have changed forever. With the lockdown, the rise of conversations around sex toys have increased. It’s not just something that only kinky people enjoy but it’s something everyone can enjoy. Being open about our intimate needs – sexual, emotional, mental, and spiritual – is a liberating experience no matter the setting.

Currently, mass vaccination drives around that world have helped open a crevice of freedom to roam and mingle, yet the potential of contracting Covid-19 is still a reality of concern.

Making do with the tools and sex toys afforded to satiate our libidos, Intimacy – in all its glory – will have to wait for more favorable circumstances.

15 Everyday Things That Are Secretly Bedroom Toys

Vibrator batteries suddenly run out?
Are you looking for other stuff to satisfy your pleasure?
Want to spice up your bedroom action so you can surprise your partner?
Worry no more, for this blog will show you 15 of the things you use every day that are also secret bedroom sex toys:

15 everyday things you can use as secret bedroom toys

1. Banana

Who doesn’t love bananas, right?
And if we’re talking about bedroom sex toys, bananas may be the first thing that will come out of your mind.
They all come in different thickness and sizes. But the best will be the one that is long and hard enough to make someone scream and roll their eyes out of pleasure.
Make love to that banana. You can put it in your mouth and lick it until it’s wet.
Have it peeled or not, whatever works most desirable for you. Just make sure it’s clean, and don’t play with it too hard. Or else a broken piece will get stuck somewhere you don’t want it to be.

2. Buzzy toothbrush

That buzzy toothbrush of yours will always come in handy in many ways you never expect.
And at times of pleasure, let the vibration touch the delicate areas while moving it up and down until you reach the climax.
There’s no need to insert the brush because the buzz will do all the work.

3. Candle

A candle is perhaps the most discreet sex toy there is. Not to mention its soft material makes it easier to insert in different holes with less effort.
And just like bananas, candles come in various sizes and thicknesses. Perfect for satisfying your pleasure. If you want a long and thicker penetration, buy one that comes with that size.
But you can use a candle not just for penetration but also for wax play.
Candle wax play can be terrifying, but the erotic experience is worth the try. So make sure you choose body wax candles and observe safety precautions when doing this. Have a glass of water beside you in case you or your partner get wax burns.

4. Feather duster

Who knows feather duster can also be a satisfying bedroom sex toy? Its long and thin handle makes a good butt plug and a soft toy so you won’t get sore easily. Just a friendly reminder, keep it clean first before taking it into action.

5. Belt

If you love BDSM, then the belt is the perfect toy for you!

Spanking gives a more erotic sensation and a great role-play before sex. Safe words are useful too, in case one gets an uncomfortable feeling.

6. Metal beaded necklace or bracelet

Have you ever heard of metal anal beads? They are great sex toys that increase arousal for a more pleasurable orgasm because of the cold, tingling sensation it gives.

But if you don’t have any, a metal beaded necklace or bracelet will do the trick. And if you still don’t have the metal one, an ordinary beaded accessory would work just fine.

7. Shower head

Just as steamy baths can get any nicer, stimulating your clits with a showerhead will make your bath time extremely relaxing. Remember, no penetration, just pure clitoris stimulation, and you’ll achieve your orgasm in no time.

8. Massager

Head massager, neck massager, or facial massager. Any of these will work just fine as long as the vibrations are well-functioning.
Try in different positions like squatting, doggy style, or laid back for a more explosive orgasm.

9. Bottle

Finish with that bottled or beer water of yours? Don’t throw them away, for they make excellent bedroom sex toys. Use one for vaginal or anal penetration. Just be careful when using the beer bottle for any sharp edges or broken fragments.

10. Pillow

A pillow does help position each other for better sex, but it alone can give you a pleasurable orgasm. Just ride on it as you normally would, or lie back and place it between your legs. Rub the pillow on your clitoris until your climax.

11. Baseball bat

Aside from sports and protection, a baseball bat can be of great help to ease your heat. Its long and hard body makes a perfect vaginal or anal dildo for an explosive orgasm.

12. Tie/stockings/scarf

Tie, stockings and scarves are great accessories too for BDSM. Plus, they can be kinky outfits for role-playing. With you just wearing only a tie or stockings before sex will indeed drive your partner crazy!

13. Make up brush

Those pretty makeup brushes of yours can be pleasurable sex toys too. With different sizes and shapes for you to choose from, you can easily control your motion for a delightful orgasm.

14. Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline

Before inserting the baseball bat, makeup brushes, or anything included in this list, make sure you have a good lube. Vaseline or petroleum jelly works fine if you don’t have any. They are more gentle and safe compared to other lubes in the market.

15. Virgin Coconut Oil

If you’re out of lube, virgin coconut oil is your best choice. Use it for oily sex, clitoris stimulation, or hand jobs. It might be a bit messy, but the experience is steamy.

Who says sex toys are always expensive? These bedroom things that you use every day will be your best alternative to pleasure your sexual desire in the most discreet way possible.

How to Carve a Dildo out of a Potato

Sweet Potato Dildo

Are you looking for something different in a dildo? Do you still need a few veggies to get that daily requirement? I’m going to show you how to carve a dildo out of a potato!

I read about this on the internet, and I laughed. The idea took root (too puny?) and I thought I bet I could carve a nice one if I tried. Off to the produce section I went.

The most important part of this is potato choice. There were many contenders, I finally chose a sweet potato. I felt bad for wide-eyed kid in produce who got a lesson in hand jobs as I ran my hand over the potatoes for weight and the firmness of the spuds while I made my choice.

The Perfect Potato

The sweet potato was the firmest and the best size, sadly some potatoes were just too small and too soft.  A word about vegetable choice, if you like thick and shorter you can go with a turnip of rutabaga. Steer clear of eggplant and cucumber, too soft and way too wet. I took home my winner and here’s what happened.

After washing the potato and drying it thoroughly. I assembled the following tools:

Sweet potato, knives, and peeler
  • A good visual of the dildo I had in mind
  • Large and extra-large condoms (A girl can dream!)
  • Potato peeler
  • Sharp paring knife
  • Grapefruit knife (Chucked it, It didn’t work well!)
  • Paper towels

Things to be considered before carving:

Whittle away from yourself for your own safety.

Don’t be in a hurry.

The shaft gets slick as you carve, utensils may slip.

Using Strokin by Clarence Carter for inspiration I sat down to listen while I sculpt. I removed the peel from the top 2/3 of the potato, leaving the larger end with the skin on and flared for better handling and what I decided was safety.

A Dildo Takes Shape

I come from two generations of carvers, it was apparent in the first ten minutes, that gene had skipped me. Holding the potato was awkward at times, my hands and the tools got moist and had to be dried off frequently. At this point my husband walks in the room and I explained my project. He took twenty dollars out of his wallet, told me to cook the potato and buy a dildo on-line.

Unpeeled potato base with thinner shaft

After I decided on the base size, I cut a line around the base of the potato and chinked it all the way around so that I could peel towards the top. Using the peeler, I removed all the skin. I then cut off each side of the potato, so I had a very long but square shape. I rounded out the end, then used the peeler until I got the shaft I was looking for. Using the carving knife, I went around the head of the shaft, until I got the head shaped the way I wanted it.

I had to go around the head with the pointed end of my peeler, to create the rim of the head (this is now starting to sound like a blowjob tutorial!) I needed. I turned the potato dildo, so the head was facing me, peeling downward to get the shaft thinner, so the head was more lifelike.

From there it was a matter of peeling until I had the shaft thickness I needed.

I decided my dildo needed to be realistic. I added more detail to the head and glans and added a slit.

As I worked, some very random thoughts popped in my head.

If this dildo isn’t thick enough, it could break inside you.

Finished potato dildo

It needs to be covered with a condom when you use it, to prevent an allergic reaction and possible infection.

I am making an eco-friendly dildo. Whoop! Whoop!

I finished the potato dildo and started to work on the base, I peeled the “handle” of the potato and cut a flat bottom, so it could stand on its own. I then rounded the base to resemble balls; in this case, it was one big ball.

Potato Dildo…Potato Vibrator

Cored dildo shaft

I sat back with my new potato dildo and had a genius thought! I then cored the center, making it big enough to insert a thin vibrator. OMG, I just made a potato vibrator (potato farmers are gonna love me!). Once you are done with the dildo, drop it in cold water until you are ready to use it, it will keep it moist, and it won’t dry out or turn color.

A Few Tips…

When your ready to play, roll the condom on it, lube this baby up and enjoy yourself. With a little ingenuity, the right set of tools and a sweet potato, you can create an evening of fun that is cheap, creative, and eco-friendly!

Senior Sex Toys…A New Way to Play

Sex should be enjoyed at ANY age. Single or in a relationship, there is a toy out there that will have you coming all night long!

If you are a senior (and I don’t mean 12th grade). I’ve got a list of the best senior sex toys to enjoy alone or with a partner for years to CUM.

Erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, and decreased sexual sensations aren’t an excuse to stop pleasuring yourself; they’re the reason to get creative in bed, the kitchen, and especially the shower!

Experimenting with sex toys, different positions, or changes to your sex play is a great way to reinvent your intimacy, even without penetration.

As you get older and shed those inhibitions, it’s a great time to add a touch of kink to your sex life. If you haven’t had a partner for a while, it’s time to spark up your alone time with a new toy, a newfound pleasure to improves your sexual health.

Remember that bigger is not always better! Starting with a less intimidating, smaller-sized vibrator doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice power. Start with low settings and work your way to the big “O.”

The Ins and Outs of Sex Toys

An Ode to the Clitoris: Vibrators

Most vibrators are great for both external and internal stimulation. If you struggle to enjoy orgasm through penetration, smaller clitoral sex toys are ideal. The sensations they provide will have you cumming over and over. Most are simple to use, with one-button controls.

Bullet-style vibrators are simple to use, have a one-button control, and are small enough to massage over your clitoris during sex or for solo play. Rechargeable, pebble-sized clitoral stimulators won’t be recognized as vibrators at first glance.

Rabbit vibrators provide both clitoral and vaginal stimulation. Many can be controlled remotely, giving hands-free clitoral stimulation, vaginal stimulation, or both.

None-vibratory, air pulse, and sonic wave technology gently tease and caress the clitoris. These are to be left in place, making them easier to use if you have wrist issues.

There is a huge selection of vibrators and dildos that can accommodate people who prefer the sensation of larger sex toys. Use plenty of lube, especially with larger products, to make them feel even more pleasurable.

Everyone Needs a Massager

Doxy: The Most Powerful Massager

The  Doxy Massager uses all standard wand attachments and comes with a silicone headcover.

The Doxy’s head rolls and rumbles rather than buzz. Use it as a general body massager or for intimate intentions, with powerful vibrations penetrating deep into the body. This sturdy electric wand comes with an escalating pulse setting and a 12-month warranty.

Body massagers are excellent for relieving aching muscles and providing intense clitoral stimulation, especially if you are experiencing decreased sexual stimulation. These are excellent sex toys for seniors!

The Ultimate Couples Play Wand

Seniors in bed kissing

A great wand for couples who enjoy intense, sensual, and full-on vibrational contact. Tease your senses, feel your passion rise, and then let it go. The wand is a rechargeable lightweight massager that is ideal for those with limited wrist movement.

Many women prefer a dildo that does not vibrate. Dildos, made of glass, metal, or silicone, provide a broader range of sexual sensations. Glass and metal sex toys can be gently heated in warm water or cooled in the refrigerator for a different sensation.

Oil-based lubricants moisturize and enhance the comfort of your sexual play, encouraging long-lasting pleasure.

The thicker consistency of oil-based lubricants makes them ideal and safe for play with anal toys. They are perfect for water play.

Silicone-based lubricants should not be used with a silicone sex to; they may damage silicone but are ideal for glass and metal sex toys.

*NEVER use oil-based lubricants with latex condoms.

Hands Down: 7 of the Best, Most Discreet Sex Toys You Should Try Right Now!

First things first — being on the lookout for more tactfully designed sex accessories doesn’t at all mean you’re ashamed of sex. It’s just a fact that sex isn’t necessarily a topic for everyday conversation. If you want to keep when you’re having sex and how you’re having sex personal, discreet sex toys are the way to go.

It might be because you have guests over while you’re packing for a trip, and your room is temporarily in shambles. That, or you don’t live alone — and it’s just a fact of life that kids, nosy roommates, and pets have a way of getting their hands (or paws) just about anywhere. If you’re looking for sex accessories that don’t scream, Hi, yes, I am a haver of sex, then read on for 7 awesome but discreet sex accessories you’ll want in your arsenal.

1. Sucking Stimulators

The key here is portability. Most nipple and clit sucking stimulators are designed to fit right in your hand without compromising for power or variety in settings. Sucking stimulators are small, battery or USB rechargeable, and should be quiet enough that no sounds will be leaving the room (unless you make any).

2. Mini Bullet Vibrators

Couple holding mini vibrator

Mini Bullet vibrators. Again: very small, fits in your bag, perfect for travel. The best, actually. They come in fun colors, but you can also order them in a more conservative gray or black. For such small toys, they can be surprisingly powerful! A good waterproof model can come with you to the shower or the bath.

3. Vaginal Kegel Balls

What’s more discreet than snug and out of sight? Kegel balls are a great way to exercise with pleasure. The best part is you can just pass them off as fidget toys or stress balls if they’re accidentally discovered.

Recommended: Waterproof Vaginal Kegel Balls

4. Penis Rings

Put a ring on it. Cock rings can make a great subtle gift and absolutely lead to longer, more stimulating sex. A good-fitting cock ring shouldn’t easily slip off, even with lube on – take your time and find what fits. They’re available in a variety of colors and sizes.

Recommended: 3/4 Penis Rings Cock Rings

5. Anal Plugs

The most important thing about butt plugs and other insertable anal toys is a pronounced, flared base. The easier it is to handle or pull out, the safer you are from an awkward trip to the ER.

6. Anal Prostate Vibrator

While we’re knocking on the back door, there are plenty of longer, vibrating models that can even be shaped like anal beads. Smooth, rounded surfaces and bendability should feel pleasant to the touch and in practice.

7. A Sex Toy in Disguise

Last but not least, this list would be completely remiss without mentioning sex toys that you can confidently pass off as ordinary household objects. Whether it’s a wooden paddle you can pretend is a spatula or a shiny bullet vibrator on a chain to wear around your neck – the possibilities for discreet sex toys are endless!

At the end of the day

Especially for newbies just getting into the creative side of sex, the term ‘sex toy’ might conjure up images of big, lifelike dildos or bright neon packaging and weirder shapes. While those do exist —and they’re great for collections! — it’s only practical to at least own a go-to product you can easily clean and just toss into a drawer or a suitcase.

Sex Toys in the Bedroom 101: The Essential Guide

Having a sex toy for solo play is good. Using sex toys with a partner is Brilliant! And if you’ve never tried it, it could be that thing you need to spice it up in the bedroom.

However, introducing sex toys to your partner might not be easy. There are certain ways to go about it to achieve the result you desire without offending. I’ve gone through this personally and am happy to share my guide with you.

Break the ice, but brace yourself for the awkwardness

Introducing sex toys to your partner can feel very awkward. When you mention using vibrators in the bedroom, your partner can feel threatened or offended. While outdated and unfortunate, there is some deep-seeded insecurity surrounding sex toys. It’s as if bringing a vibrator into the bedroom implies that you don’t think your partner is good enough. That ain’t right!

When bringing it up, don’t concentrate solely on your sexual needs. Doing this has the potential to annoy and put your partner on the defensive. Make the conversation about both of you. Approach the subject with empathy and be prepared for an inquisitive reaction.

Have an open and honest discussion about why this is something that appeals to you. Tell your partner that it’s something new to try that you both will enjoy. Remind them, it’s something the two of you can try together to broaden your sexual repertoire.

Offer to go shopping with them, but be prepared to go alone

Disregard your sex toys collection. It is best to buy something new, especially if your partner is unsure about using sex toys in the bedroom. When it comes to a toy you have used previously, there can be a lot of mixed feelings, especially if it was with other partners.

You want the new sex toy to be something special for both of you, something you can share. Offer to bring your partner to the store with you or to shop online with you. It should calm them down to know that there are so many options for sex toys, as well as non-scary places to buy them.

Be prepared to be shot down while out shopping. It could simply be too much. And that’s perfectly fine! Trying out sex toys for the first time can be nerve-racking. If you’re alone, enjoy the experience. Select something that both you and your partner will enjoy.

Do not choose a huge, phallic monster sex toy

You don’t want to bring a scary, veiny Rabbit vibrator with a million spinning beads and a realistic penis-head home to a nervous partner. Nope. It will not end well. Bringing home a vibrator shaped like a larger-than-life penis says, “I’m replacing your dick with this vibrator” or “I need a penis over your vulva to be happy.”

To begin, pick something non-threatening. You want it to be fun and exciting, not terrifying.

Choose to arouse curiosity rather than anxiety. When in doubt, select a sex toy that does not even resemble a sex toy. The toy should be as quiet as possible. You’re looking for something in a non-fleshy color that’s more “cute” than explicitly sexual.

Concentrate on enjoyable exploration.

This part comes after getting a suitable sex toy. When you bring the sex toy into the bedroom, keep the focus on you and your partner. Learn how to say some verbal encouragement. Tell your partner how turned on you are and how good they make you feel.

You want the toy to be a part of the experience, not the sole focus of it. Make it a point to tell your partner how hot they are and how much you adore their penis/vulva/body.

If at all possible, avoid mentioning the toy. You can direct your partner’s hand to your hot spots, or you can use the toy on yourself. They want to make you happy. If they see how much fun you’re having, they’ll probably be open to incorporating sex toys into the routine.

Keep in mind that it is entirely up to you

Introducing sex toys can be entertaining, but it may not work for every couple.

Sex toys can provide various benefits, such as broadening horizons in sexual positions, techniques, approaches, activities, and interactions and opening up new pathways to pleasure and generating conversation. Regardless, it’s perfectly fine if it’s not your thing.

Sometimes, we need external stimulation to attain orgasm. Hence, the desire to introduce your partner to using sex toys in the bedroom. Doing this does not negate your sex life; it only spices it up, and you end up feeling even closer to your partner.

The History of Vibrators in Under 10 Minutes

The electricity that courses through you each time the vibrator hums is one of a kind. But did you know the vibrator was anything but a ‘sex toy’ when it was created? It started from being a tool to alleviate hysteria to being called a ‘massager’ at some point. Where would we be now without its evolution? Hence, we follow the vibrator’s journey through history. If you sometimes wonder how the vibrator came to be, then this is for you. Let’s get to it.

Prioritizing sexual pleasure has been a thing for a very long time. Interestingly, the first phallic sex toys, such as the carved chalk phallus, date back nearly 28,000 years B.C. to the Neolithic Era. These toys were siltstone-made and discovered in German caves.

There’s also the fable about Cleopatra. The Egyptian queen reportedly ordered her servants to fill a carved gourd with bees to stimulate her genitals. The rhythmic buzzing inside the base turned the hollow gourd into a makeshift vibrator.

The 1860s to 1900s

In 1869, physician George Taylor invented the first vibrator. The vibrator’s original purpose was to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety in women, a condition known as hysteria. Even though hysteria has existed since the 13th century, it was still somehow restricted to women.

Before the invention of the vibrator, doctors would give women a treatment known as ‘pelvic massage’ and send them on their way. In hindsight, pelvic massage was simply doctors fingering women on their operating tables.

The invention of vibrators was for the convenience of doctors treating hysteria. It was exhausting to rub one out by hand; hence they invented the machine to do the job.

Doctors thought they were treating a female illness and had no idea they were dealing with sexual frustration. It is hilarious how none of them had any idea that MAYBE women were getting sexual pleasure from the treatment.

The 1920s

The vibrator was invented mainly for the home as a household appliance, a type of “massager” for bodily ailments, and “beauty aids.” The vibrator, powered by a large, unsexy motor, was only the fifth household appliance to be electrified.

The first appearance of vibrators in smut films and pornographic magazines in the 1920s opened women’s eyes to the sexual side of their casually purchased “back massagers.”

vibrator components

The 1930s

According to Babeland’s Vintage Vibrator Museum, the end of the Victorian era’s first machine vibes to the 1930s marked the golden age in vibrator history. Many innovative models, such as the Massage Master II, were introduced to the market during this time. This model has three different heads for “working out those sore muscles.” Yep.

The 1940s

The same clumsy designs that hit the market in the 1920s and 1930s still existed in the 1940s. They were marketed as “massagers” because they were loud, frightening, and resembled a screwdriver. (Not exactly what you’d want to put on your genitals.)

The 1950s

While there were few upgrades to vibrators during this period, the 1952 Niagara Handheld Unit 1 was an interesting addition to pre-existing models. Unlike most one-speed-fits-all devices on the market, the Niagara had a speed control button rather than a simple on/off switch. While still clearly retro, this was the first step toward producing better products.

The 1960s

A popular vibrator made during this period struck the most resemblance with your favorite wand massager: its vintage cousin if you will. The vibrator’s popularity coincided with the arrival of the sexual revolution in the 1960s, and demand among women skyrocketed.

As women gained control of their bodies, they started looking for better toys. The sexual revolution saw an increase in demand rather than an advancement in design. It was the first time society acknowledged women’s pleasure.

wand vibrator

The 1970s

The 1970s were a decade of significant improvements on market models such as the Niagara Units of the 1950s. There was also the development of what many consider to be the Cadillac of vibrators: the Hitachi Magic Wand (still sold and used today).

The 1980s-1990s

When women started their own sex toy companies, they wanted to make appealing products. They wanted to do away with the rather frightening seven-pound, male-designed, insanely loud vibrating sticks of previous years.

Then came the Fukuoku, one of the first finger vibes, which focused mainly on clitoral stimulation.

The 2000s

Sex toys for women began to get a decidedly stylish upgrade in the twenty-first century. Suddenly, there were toys that not only sought to please various parts of the female anatomy but also sought to appeal to a wide range of aesthetics, such as the super sleek Crave Vesper vibrators. It’s the sex-tech revolution, which combines sexuality and pleasure with cutting-edge technology and minimalist design.

Even more encouraging is the fact that women are now designing sex toys. Creating vibrators for their pleasure is a logical next step – since women best understand by women’s pleasure. We now have hand-held vibrators with varying speeds. What more could one want? It just goes to demonstrate that vibrators can now be considered luxury items, ones that we (hopefully) can use with regularity and openness.

The evolution of the vibrator through time is an amazing one. Women probably would still have to go to doctors to treat “hysteria” if not for the evolution of the amazing tool. I bet you will enjoy using your vibrator even more now that you know its history.

The Best Sex Toys For Every Zodiac

Choosing the right sex toys can be difficult at times. Have you been unable to select an ideal toy? If yes, we have a suggestion for you. Why not select a sex toy based on your astrological sign? Each zodiac sign has distinct personality traits that help you predict how they will behave in the bedroom. Using these characteristics and assumptions, we were able to identify the ideal sex toy for each zodiac sign. So keep reading to find out which toy is best for you.

Aries (March 21—April 19): Bondage set

If they aren’t already into BDSM, passionate, fiery Aries may want to try the form of sex play in either a dominant or submissive role. Tying up a partner can be much fun while also satisfying a need for control. However, some Aries feel sexual gratification by relinquishing their control, so it could also be fun to experiment with the sub role.

Taurus (April 20—May 20): Vibrating jewelry

Taurus enjoys the finer things in life, so going extravagant may be all it takes to get you off. That is why a piece of jewelry that also functions as a vibrator is ideal for a Taurus. You will appreciate the artistry in that. It’ll also turn you on to know that you’re wearing something in public that will provide you with pleasure later. It will put your dependable patience to the test.

Gemini (May 21—June 20): Sex swing

Geminis are notorious for being wild in bed. Geminis are always looking for new and creative ways to expand their sex lives. Hence, they’re always on the lookout for toys that tickle their fancy in exciting and unique ways. We recommend a sex swing since you would have already tried your fair share of toys.

Cancer (June 21—July 22): Couples’ vibrator or crystal dildo

Cancers can be demisexual – they require an emotional connection to feel sexually stimulated. They’re the most caring of the bunch, so while they’re off, they’ll want to make sure their partner is off as well. And nothing says mutual pleasure like a vibrator that stimulates or engages both partners at the same time.

If you are not in a relationship, you can connect with yourself and manifest the pleasure of your dreams. Use a crystal dildo that has its intention or healing property.

Leo (July 23—August 22): Rabbit vibrator

Being a Leo, you are completely self-assured, enjoy being the center of attention, and enjoy stroking your ego. As a result, a dual-action rabbit vibrator that stimulates the clit while penetrating the vagina would be the ideal sex toy for a Leo. That way, you can be certain that every sensitive area receives the attention it deserves.

Virgo (August 23—September 22): Wand vibrator

We recommend a dependable wand vibrator for modest Virgos who value practicality. A simple, powerful, and simple-to-use wand vibrator is all you need to get you off. It’s a practical approach to a situation where you crave an ‘out of control’ pleasure.

Libra (September 23—October 22): Nipple clamps

Balance is everything for a Libra, and that applies to both their physical and emotional selves. Hence, the nipple clamps come into play. They’re great for stimulating the upper body while keeping the lower body busy. You can use them either alone or with a partner.

Scorpio (October 23—November 21): Sensory pinwheel or Blindfold

Scorpios are the most enigmatic and secretive of the zodiac signs. They’re also very sensual and sexually charged. To turn them on, they require an element of surprise and mystery, which is why the pinwheel will appeal to them. It’s a unique way to experiment with touch, and [is ideal] for when they want to tease and surprise themselves with a new sensation.”

If you’re afraid of sharp objects, try wearing a blindfold. Removing the visuals will further increase the physical intensity for sexually intense Scorpios.

Sagittarius (November 22—December 21): Heated or flavored lubricant

Heated lube is a wonderful way for Sagittarius to expand sex in a way that allows for temperature experimentation. It gives a new dimension to sex and what they’re capable of feeling. Using flavored lube can open up a whole new world of taste and touch for your Sagittarius partner.

Capricorn (December 22—January 19): Vibrating finger sleeve

Capricorns are hard workers even in the bedroom. They work for what they get, and the same is true for orgasms and pleasure. They’ll adore a vibrating finger sleeve since it aids the work they have to do while not eliminating it. Furthermore, a finger sleeve vibrator is the most controllable type of vibrator, and Capricorns enjoy being in command.

Aquarius (January 20—February 18): Rainbow-colored dildo

It’s no surprise that we pair the eccentric and daring Aquarius with a rainbow-colored dildo. Aquarius is fiercely independent, which is why a masturbatory toy is best for them. A rainbow-colored dildo is not only a fun masturbatory toy to use alone, but it is also a toy with a purpose. You can show support for gay rights while enjoying your orgasm.

Pisces (February 19—March 20): Waterproof vibrator

Pisces enjoy fantasizing. Their best sexual experience will be one where they feel like they’re in another world. A waterproof vibrator enables them to enjoy the pleasures of a warm bath or a relaxing shower. It also can transport them to another world while they have fun.

Astrology and sex may appear unrelated, but they are. You can determine your favorite sex position, the most sensitive part of your body, and your fantasies by your zodiac sign. You can even use your sign to select appropriate sex toys, as we did above.
